Most of us don’t think of affluent Marin County being a spot where homelessness is an issue, but it is. According to a report by the Marin County Department of Health and Human Services, there were 1,117 homeless people in Marin as of January 27, 2017. 37 percent were sheltered and 63 percent were not.
Doing their small part to help, the Teen Service Corps came out this week to cook and serve a group of 20 men a hot meal and give them a warm place to sleep at St. Hilary Catholic Church in Tiburon, California. Meals, prepared by the teens, included lasagna, salad, fruit and lots of desserts. If you’d like to join us to help feed and shelter the homeless in our community, please contact us at [email protected].
